Fiddletown Preservation Society (FPS)
The Fiddletown Preservation Society (FPS) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving, maintaining, and restoring the historical buildings, records, and relics of the Gold Rush town of Fiddletown. In 1978, Fiddletown and 18 sites in the Fiddletown Historic District were included on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1988 and 2008, FPS won the California Governor’s Award for its restoration projects. Community donations support the restoration of the 1862 schoolhouse, the Chinese Store and Chinese Gambling Hall, and the Chew Kee Store Museum. The Museum is open for tours Saturdays, April thru October. www.fiddletown.info
