LOCKWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD RADIO WATCH
The Lockwood Neighborhood Radio Watch is a nonprofit, all-volunteer, community-based organization serving residents in and around the Lockwood Fire Protection District including Volcano, Sutter Creek and outlying areas. Our goal is to provide the community with an alternative means of communication when power is out, cell service doesn’t work and communication is necessary for the safety of everyone. GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) uses UHF frequency radios and repeater towers that provide the ability to talk directly from neighbor to neighbor. The LNRW provides the repeater systems, maintenance and ongoing training to residents on the proper use of the network through generous donations. We are endorsed by the Amador County OES, Lockwood Fire and District 5 Supervisor Brian Oneto.
